Rineloricaria sp. (L010a)

Published / Updated

Information

The red colored Rineloricaria sp. (L010a) pleco is a South American Loricariidae (sub family Loricariinae). This red form is probably artificial, it is not evident whether this is a fact or not. Also it is unclear how this is achieved.

Care tips

  • Very peaceful species
  • Prefers sand as substrate
  • Is not a picky eater
  • Provide caves
  • Omnivore
  • Provide dried leaves

Rineloricaria sp. (L010a) is also known by Rineloricaria sp. 'red', L010a pleco, L10a pleco, Red lizard catfish and Red whiptail catfish.

Below you can find photo and video collection of the L010a plecos that I have kept. I had a male and a female of this species. From my experience they are not really territorial and absolutely not shy. Male will try to guard the cave mildly.
