The cryptic Agamyxis pectinifrons is a South American Doradidae that is found spread throughout the Amazon basin.
Care tips
- Prefers lower temperatures (20.0-26.0 ℃)
- Prefers slow moving water
- Omnivore
- Try to keep them as a group of 4 or more
- Needs dark hiding place
- Provide bog-wood and or drift-wood
Agamyxis pectinifrons is also known by Spotted talking catfish, Spotted raphael catfish and White-barred catfish.
Below you can find photo and video collection of the two Spotted raphael catfish I cared for. I kept this species for about 4 to 5 years. A peaceful and shy catfish that really needs dark hiding places. I am sorry for the dated and poor photographs.
