The cryptic Agamyxis pectinifrons is a South American Doradidae that is found spread throughout the Amazon basin.

Care tips

  • Prefers lower temperatures (20.0-26.0 ℃)
  • Prefers slow moving water
  • Omnivore
  • Try to keep them as a group of 4 or more
  • Needs dark hiding place
  • Provide bog-wood and or drift-wood

Agamyxis pectinifrons is also known by Spotted talking catfish, Spotted raphael catfish and White-barred catfish.

Below you can find photo and video collection of the two Spotted raphael catfish I cared for. I kept this species for about 4 to 5 years. A peaceful and shy catfish that really needs dark hiding places. I am sorry for the dated and poor photographs.
